Grummet has been producing some really great stuff lately. Are you having the Crystal piece colored by him also John?

Loving all the Pelletier commissions. Especially since I'd not really seen any before.

One of the classic images by Big John from his prime period working on Conan. The portfolio published by Sal Quartruchio in 1980 has some great art all by John but this is far and away the best piece from it. I have always admired it, classic Buscema woman with John's favorite character. I haven't received it yet (will be awhile), the highlight of the year. Enjoy.

Great pick up, Brian. Admired it in the Comiclink auction, but it was out of my range. It's funny, it's a simple drawing. A girl--Buscema essentially always draws about the same girl--and Conan sitting in a chair, another fairly typical Buscema pose--and yet the end result is stunning. And man, could Big John ink--there were a number of inkers that looked good on him--Steve Gan and brother Sal were my favorites, and Palmer on the superhero stuff--but the best of them never come close to John himself. I have to think if he had followed Kubert's practice of always inking himself, JB's reputation would be even higher than it is. This may be the most stunning piece of art I've seen on this thread--certainly it's in contention. Congratulations.

Buscema inking himself looks great. I like the contrast between the stillness of Conan and the movement of the woman -- fantastic how her hair and her skirt really show you how she's swaying.
