Wow, Popeye and The Goon is a great idea!•• I do believe that MARVEL TEAM-UP cover is fast outstripping X-MEN 141 for generating the most homages!

Ha ha! You noticed that huh, JB? :0)
When Dave Sim did his version for me he asked if you knew what I had been doing with your cover! I laughed and assured him that you were aware!
If I have my way there will be many more to come!

I like how are using characters that can logically be believed to be in this setup (Kermit The Frog and Alice the Goon in a swamp, Popeye on a boat).

OK fine, here you go....last one from Motor City!
I finally went for it and got a full size (11x17) Kitson con "sketch"....calling this a sketch is really destroying the English language. Full backgrounds! Color!!! Amazing. This is my favorite image I've ever seen Kitson produce. I love it!

Here is the other piece I picked up from Scott Kolins at the Motorcity con.I was going for Nova vs.Hulk, but Scott does an incredible Grundy. This piece looks much better in person. Sorry for the low budget scan,my scanner can't handle 11x17.

Love the Kitson, Joe! There are a lot of reasons Barry is one of my favorite people. That piece is an example of one of those reasons!

That Kolins piece is fantastic. Another really great guy and friend. I wish he did more shows in this area.

Indulging myself with another DAN DARE page. This is from a story published several years before I became aware of the characters, so there's no direct emotional connection, but it's such a PURTY PAGE I decided I'd been a "good boy" about not spending money long enough.Frank Hampson and his studio were known to custom built models of the various craft that appeared in the stories, in order to photograph them for consistency from panel to panel. Same thing I do with the 3D models I build in the computer, really, and it looks like that boat is a pretty classic example of this.

Stunning! I have the two "starter" volumes of collected Dan Dare that you suggested sitting on my shelf. Though I haven't made the time to read them yet, I have been blown away by the artwork.
Congrats!
