Second DARE page just arrived. So gorgeous. Makes me think seriously about that correspondence course in plumbing. . .

Seeing the "dead" Judges. . .

The only piece of Brian Bolland art I have (wish I had more!) is the page on which those guys first appear. Unfortunately, like my "first appearance of the Watcher" page (only his feet are seen), they're standing with their backs to the viewer and only partially visible. Like the Watcher, the NEXT page is the money shot!

Unfortunately for me - and doubly so as he's gone almost completely digital, this is the only Bolland I possess.

It's from UKCAC 86 - were you at that or the year after JB? I only got an autograph of you at that. As a callow youth of 14, you were the first artist I came across that charged and I couldn't afford it :(

Course nowadays, it's standard even in the UK so you make sure you get to a cash point =)

I was there in '88.

Oops, no I didn't mean that in a bad way.

Hey guys, John Bolton was the second artist I met that charged, it;s just that I went round the room clockwise so JB was the first!!!!!

(and Bolton was more expensive)

I really like Reis' work.  One of the best in comics today.

With a big thanks to Bill Roberge for the inspiration,  I have just received my largest/smallest commission project yet.  I give you Hembeck to the twentieth power!  These will go with the three AF cards I already have: Guardian, Northstar/Aurora in their original costumes, and Shaman/Talisman.  I need to get better photos, but for now the phone is the only way to go.  (Yes, Joe Hollon, that is the Beyonder)

Sasquatch and Box/Bochs are done at double the size, so they are in closer proportion to the rest of the characters.  Fred threw in the solo Northstar as a bonus, so he will be displayed next to the new Aurora.

Thank you, Fred!!
