I've always thought Tom Sutton was the greatest rat artist, but I've seen some Arthur Rackham rats that are also excellent in their rattyness. I'm sure Wrightson must be up there too if he's done rats. Now for mice, I think Beatrix potter is the finest!

Thanks Steven!
I struggle with clean hatching and feathering with pencil. The iPad/Apple Pencil helps but is still really tough for me since I lack patience while I draw.

Or... could be a young Wendy Pini (after finding out an Elfquest cartoon wasn't happening, or at least not like they wanted). That gorey stuff on the axe looks very real! :^o
