Once upon a time, Dave Cockrum showed me the model sheets he'd done for the X-Men. One thing that definitely stuck in my mind wad Dave's instruction to artists drawing Colossus NOT to give him "stove pipe" arms and legs -- Ie, the articulation should follow the individual muscles, not simply circle the limbs.

Unfortunately, that seems to have been largely forgotten.

But JB, don't you know model sheets stifle an artist's creativity?

Looks like the new Bowen Thing is up for pre order.

Always nice to see a Randy Bowen sculpt.

Not bad! A bit "cobble-stony" for my taste, but at least it avoids about 90% of the common errors, like articulated muscles, for instance.

Wow. Makes me wish Bowen still did the mini statues. Those are too big and too expensive for me. Sure is tempting, though.

I like it, I wouldn't mind a whole Fantastic Four.

Finally got around to picking up the Bowen "retro" White Queen. (Ye Gads! I have been around long enough to be "retro"??) Went back and forth on this one for a while, but finally succumbed.

Confess a degree of disappointment. From pictures I'd seen, I thought her outfit was in the same luminous white they recently used on the Psychoman, but t'is not. It's quite dark, in fact. The Silver Queen?

As soon as I find out how expensive it will be, I'll consider making that my first ever Bowen Statue.

Wait. SECOND ever Bowen Statue. He sculpted the Smiley Bone in Cow Costume that's sitting on my end table.

Spider-Man looking good. Don't think of his costume as being SHINY, tho.
