We've all seen worse.I think of it as an alternate universe galactus
instead of the Kirby-verse version. The head really could be better.
Overall it looks to me like they tried too hard to make galactus cool.
Instead of using the Marvel Ultimate Alliance version hasbro could've
just up-sized the BAF molds and added cavities for the electronics.

He's very solid even with the electronics stuff.

Just watch... next year they'll release a classic Kirby version.

When it comes to Galactus, I am a purist. Sure, Kirby didn't draw the character exactly the same way every time, but he came as close as he ever did, and the original was very clean and powerful and -- once I learned the "beats" -- very easy to draw.

Overcomplicating the suit just defeats the cleanness of the lines.

(I guess it goes with the wrinkle I introduced into the character's mythos: everyone sees Galactus differently, as their minds struggle to grapple that which cannot truly be grapples. So this version is as seen by someone who got zonked on acid and then read three years worth of POPULAR MECHANICS without taking a break.)

The things on his helmet look like some kind of mechanical barnacle, and I tend to wonder why a being powerful enough to destroy worlds feels the need to have abs sculpted into his armor.

The abs aren't sculpted into his armour. I believe part of it is a lot
like a divers wetsuit that conforms to the body.Just more advance nano
tech stuff. Comfortable yet protects against gamma radiation from
pulsars and the like.

BTW one other gripe I have about this figure is that the fingers aren't
move-able/pose-able like the BAF Sentinel. This being such a large
figure it's a definite flaw.

@ JB
Is Jim Warden away on vacation or something?I emailed him weeks
ago about purchasing one drawing and haven't heard back. I want
to be on the 2011 commision list for a Sentinel. Thanks in advance.

For someone who isn't a Galactus purist, especially considering the lack of strict continuity as well as JB's "viewed differently by all" interpretation, I thought this Galactus was pretty cool when I saw it at TRU.

I immediately knew it was Galactus and that it was so much closer to scale than any other line that I've seen offset any liberties they took with the design.

Not perfect but not deserving of the heavy criticism IMO.

LINK to DC Direct's offerings for August, 2011.

Includes these two new additions to the Ame-Comi Heroine Series:

The Wonder Woman is cute in the same kind of "alternate reality" way that most of the Ame-Comi figures work. The Barda seems to miss the gist of the character, tho.

That Ame-Comi Wonder Woman is interesting...  Are those spikes on her armbands, or bullets being deflected?   Getting a bit of a "American Gladiators" vibe from her as well.

Anybody have any info on the 11th Doctor/Amy Pond "busts" I see advertised for pre-order? I'm seeing 2 versions of Amy, one with and one without legs (to just above mid thigh). What's the actual release version?
