Over five feet long. Didn't come with swastikas on the tail, of course. Had to make those myself. Now, since it's hanging above my computer chair, let's hope it doesn't burst into flames!

That is very cool, too bad real ones don't continue to ply the airways.

Note to self: remember not to dope the skin with solid rocket fuel!!

I saw a documentary that blamed that for everything years ago, then saw a more recent one that dismissed it as a cause, unfortunate we will probably nevery really know what happened.

I've also seen this solution "dismissed", and it mystifies me. The "rocket fuel" answer is the only one that fits ALL the particular circumstances of the event. I suspect those who don't like it are simply upset by the notion of one of history's great "mysteries" being solved, without having to invoke sabotage and conspiracy. It's rather akin to the Titanic nuts who cannot believe it "just" hit an iceberg.

Yeah I thought they made a pretty convincing case (they even found a surviving piece of the skin!) of course I guess the later documentary would have to dismiss it otherwise why would you need more documentaries if the one blaming the paint already explained everything.

The Mythbusters put it to the test and used the dope formula which was used
on the Hindenburg and found it the dope didn't cause it to burn that fast as
in the original accident. It looks like a combination of Hydrogen and the
dope contributed to it.

There is no question that the hydrogen EVENTUALLY became involved -- how could it not? But the fact remains that eyewitnesses reported yellow/orange flames, and hydrogen burns blue. In the lighting conditions of the moment (twilight and overcast) a hydrogen fire would most likely not even have been visible.

This is the most telling evidence, however:

With almost the entire rear half of the airship engulfed in flame, the Hindenberg is continuing to keep level to the ground. If the hydrogen was burning, and thus being depleted, the nose would have been lighter, and higher than the tail.

Amazing photo!  I don't think I've ever seen that one before.

Still hard to believe there were any survivors.

Me neither, very cool (just look at the size of it!) it really does look like the paint is burning off and the skin is actually still intact and just collapsing in.

X-Plus has posted photos of the painted prototype for their 30 cm tall 1962 Godzilla vinyl figure (KING KONG VS. GODZILLA version).

http://www.ric-toy.ne.jp/item_kingodzi.html

It's gonna be a two-months late Christmas present for my brother, but he's seems to be quite happy with what he's seen of it so far.

Edit - It is actually 33 cm tall.   Also, I managed to lock in my HLJ pre-order for it late last week at a 5% early bird discount, but looks like they may have jumped the gun by more than a month [HLJ Link]

Sebastien - comparing your avatar to your son's photo, you REALLY need to update your avatar!
