Kaiyodo's SF Revoltech version of the Toho monster Angirus (1968) has finally appeared Sweet, I'm going to have to track down all the non-Godzilla kaiju. I used to love those as a kid.

"Oh, you miserable bags of bones! Pick yourselves up and sally for- aack!"
Okay, wrong movie quote... However, couldn't help thinking that with Kaiyodo's other Sci-Fi Revoltech action figure, the Skeleton Warrior from JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS. [HLJ Link] Have him team up with the previously-released Jack Skellington, battle the Alien Warrior, or recreate a JB commission by hunting down some appropriately scale accessories and have him reading a book or sitting in a chair drinking coffee...

For Yamato / Star Blazers fans, Bandai is putting out a "Soul of Chogokin" version of the Earth Defense Force Flagship Andromeda, from the Comet Empire storyline: [HLJ Link] "Soul of Chogokin" implies that this will be a (mostly) die-cast metal production, unlike the previous "Soul of Popynica" Yamato, which ended up being mainly plastic with some die-cast parts. Not sure if it have any action features like it's predecessor though. If I wasn't already committed to the new Yamato and the upcoming Marvel & DC Bishoujos, I'd be picking it up. As it is, the Yen / Dollar exchange rates are really bad right now.

I think I like this one. Though it is a tad sultry for, Sue. Still, great sculpt. Love the invisible effect.

Though it is a tad sultry for, Sue. *** A little too "Tricia Helfer-ish" for my tastes, but I do agree it's nice eye-candy. At least it's not as over-the-top as the Rockin' Jellybean one...

Has a good KING KONG statue ever been made? I'm not a model/statue guy but that's my favorite movie and something like that could potentially really interest me. I figured there might be some folks with some opinions about such things (if such things even exist).
By the way (and boy do I hate even having to say this) I'm only interested in representations of the original, real KING KONG. Ya know, from 1933*.
*I've referred to the "original" KING KONG before and had people think I meant the 1970s version. Sigh....

Well Joe... There's this one:
It's a 1933 King Kong limited edition statue made with arrangements with the estate of Merian C. Cooper Not sure if it's still available [Monsters in Motion Link] Searching through HLJ's archives found some 1933 King Kong action figures (tie-in to the Peter Jackson movie) by X-Plus, but they didn't look so hot IMO.

Has a good KING KONG statue ever been made? The McFarlane one wasn't too bad, though it's not really a statue http://www.toymania.com/features/spotlight/kong.shtml

Hm....yeah, that McFarlane is ok. Bill do you have a link to the figures you said were not so hot? I'd like to check them out for myself.

So that's what Pyro would look like if he was cut in two with his greasy grimy gopher guts falling out. Always wanted a statue that depicted that.

Still bemoaning not picking up the X-Plus Gorosaurus (from King Kong Escapes and Destroy All Monsters) when I had the chance.... I heard he's now going for $2000+ on some Japanese auction sites.
