Nice previews for the upcoming Toho movie Sci-Fi Revoltech Mothra and Mogera figures.

Haven't heard Jodi talk about the Woody and Buzz SF Revoltechs she ordered lately...   I hope they turned out okay, 'cause I'd hate to have made a bad recommendation.

I don't collect the Ghostbusters line, but I do collect Masters of the Universe Classics line from MattyCollector, and it can be a pain in the butt. Since these lines are direct to consumer, Mattel does not want to keep any overstock and production is limited. In the case of Masters of the Universe, the figures usually sell out within an hour (and before production on the line was increased, some figures sold out in less than 10 minutes). On top of that, the website for placing orders usually cannot take the stress of thousands of people trying to place orders, and it can sometimes take 40 minutes just to get your order through. (Like trying to get hot tickets on Ticketmaster.com at 10 am on the on-sale date.) And the sale dates are on the 15th of the month (or following Monday if the 15th is on a weekend) at 12 PM ET, so if you are at work and don't have internet access, you are kind of out of luck.

I think the Ghostbusters figures last a bit longer (talking a day or two as opposed to an 45 minutes), so you don't have to deal with all the website issues from the MotU collector stampede. MattyCollector offers a subscription service so you don't have to deal with placing an order each month, but that's only available to purchase for a few weeks after the start of SDCC.

If you don't mind the Ghostbusters 2 uniforms, Mattel is producing a Toys R Us exclusive box set of the 6" figures dressed in them, which should be out before Christmas. And if you aren't a completist and just want any version of the four Ghostbusters, they'll be releasing them again with different accessories and costumes. September 15th is Egon with a PKE meter and a stack of library books, and November 15th is an unslimed Peter with a blast effect on his proton stream.

Also, while we are talking about Ghostbusters, MattyCollector will be selling a functional PKE meter prop around the holidays:

I'm expecting a crazy fast sellout for that one.

I wish DC Direct or Mattel would get on the ball and put out a Star Spangled Kid, Mr. Terrific, and Johnny Thunder wave of figures so I can complete my original (pre-Crisis) JSA roster. A Ma Hunkel  Red Tornado would be much appreciated too.

HLJ is now taking pre-orders for X-Plus' Godzilla 1984 figure ('Godzilla 1985' in the U.S.)  [Link]

And also looks like HLJ has managed to restock the X-Plus Godzilla 1989 figure again [Link]   (Suspect this won't last long)

Edit - Yup, the 1989 figure is now sold out again!

Now, I just need X-Plus to come out with a 1962 Godzilla (King Kong vs. version).

Bill

The Woody is OUTSTANDING!!!!! Love everything about it, the eyes can be moved when you remove the face to give it different expressions.

The joints on Woody look really good. The extras they put in with the figures are really cute. I love the little army guys.

When I went to Canada for Al's birthday I bought some of my favorite "can't buy in America" candy, Kinder Eggs. Which just so happened to be doing toy story toys inside, so I was able to add the alien squeaking toy. I got a Ham, he was of course too small, but I still set it with them.

Now Buzz wasn't as well done IMO, the joints on him look strange and want to pop out a little. The over all body scale just seems off a little and the scale between Buzz and Woody seem to be off, the Buzz toy is smaller then I think he should be. But over all, I like him a lot, just not as much as I love Woody.  I would order from them again and am really glad you put up the link.

Thanks for the reply, Jodi!  Glad to hear Woody turned out great, and sorry Buzz was not so great...

(Wanted to get this posted before Al Cook had fun again with what you wrote) ;)

I need to be careful with the fun I have with Jodi's wording.  Last time my post got deleted, so I think I'll leave well enough alone this time.

Besides, I know first hand that dear sweet Jodi has a dirtier mind than even I do.  Don't let the wholesome motherly look fool you...
