The ultimate SDF-1 Macross model kit...

For only around $2200 U.S. *ACK!*  *COUGH!*

http://www.hlj.com/sdf1macross.html

Perfectly happy with the much smaller Chogokin-ish one I got a couple of years ago.

I hated when Lockheed was brought in.  I hate it even more that they include it with Kitty.

Count me a hater.  Lockheed is straight out of the Mary Sue playbook.

It looks like Lockheed may be removable.

Lockheed --- yeah. "Hate" is WAY to strong a word, but dislike intensely, as an encapsulation of what was going wrong with the X-Books, most definitely. Smitty doodles a dragon -- ends up in the book. Smitty doodles Storm in a mohawk -- ends up in the book. And mutants? What are they?

(Nothing new in the latter instance. Looking at the big commission piece I did for Nathan Greno, I realized just how FEW mutants the X-Men dealt with during my own time on the book. Hardly any of those stories were truly X-Men specific. They could have been switch over to the Avengers or the FF without a blink.)

Speaking of Kitty Pryde.. there was something I have always wondered about.

JB, is it true you said your "model" for Kitty was a young Sigourney Weaver?  Had you actually seen pictures of a young Sigourney or was it your guess?

The reason I am curious is because I was thinking about making a sculpt of her and I could find no pictures of Sigourney when she was young. I was considering using a young Kristen Stewart as a model. In my opinion her and Sigounrey look alike.

Kitty was actually "modeled" on a young woman who lived in my apartment building -- that was how Kitty also came to be Jewish -- but when I drew her the first time I thought she looked how Sigourney Weaver might have looked at the same age. I mentioned this to Chris, and that was how the ALIEN "homage" came to be.

Dave did an excellent job of capturing "my" Kitty, but Smitty turned her into Brooke Shields, and there she stayed.

What exactly do people dislike about Lockheed? It certainly
can't be because of his annoying proselytizing.
