Uh, actually 4,888 yen should be around $53 U.S.

HLJ puts a yen converter under each of their items, so the "early bird" pre-order price is listed right now at $26.59 for Woody or Buzz.

I'm reminded of when I visited Venice, and saw in the window of a shop on a wonderful little side street a porcelain statue of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza that called out to me. I peered thru the window at the price, and managed to misread the first figure as a lira sign, so what I thought was 500,000 turned out to be 1,500,000. A moment of panic, until I remembered to knock off the last three zeroes!

And then they shipped it for free!!

Bill I like your answer even better. There is a new Buzz at Target I would love to get, but it's huge. It is so cool. But it is just too big. These figures are great they are so well made.

Commercial for the buzz

I searched that site and thought this item was pretty cool. Being a Star Blazers/Yamato fan, I may have to order it.

Paul, if you do get that Okita plaque, just don't start talking to it in times of crisis...

It may come to life and order you to sacrifice yourself by ramming the Comet Empire's Gatlantis fortress... ;)

"ramming the Comet Empire's Gatlantis fortress"

***

Doh!  That should be "ramming Emperor Zwardar's Black Dreadnought!"

Can't believe I mis-remembered the ending of SARABA UCHU SENKAN YAMATO!

*hangs head in shame*

Woo-Hoo!

The Starship Modeler store finally restocked some of those aftermarket resin cast engines to convert Round 2's reissue of AMT's old "UFO Mystery Ship" kit back into the SSC Leif Ericson!

Of course, there's still problems with the neck of the UFO kit that'll require some work...

I recently saw a picture of the full size Bowen statue of Kitty Pryde.  I do not know if a picture of it has been posted here but from what I remember, Kitty was a teenager.
