Back to the quote function on Statue Marvels. I agree...the most aggravating thing to me is the quoting of the same image over & over again! I don't get why, if you are going to quote, you can't figure out that you can delete said image from the post? Here's an example of THE pic that aggravates me more than any other & is possibly the most quoted on any of the statue related boards...Scroll down to see the awful Dale Keown Hulk...

Y'know, I have a fondness for most of the Irwin Allen vehicles, but the Spindrift is not one of them. Didn't make any contextual sense, for one thing, and looked WAY too much like a redress of the Flying Sub.

One of my old neighborhood friends got that Spindrift model by Aurora back in the day...  The top part of the model was removable to show off the interior (just like the Flying Sub model from Aurora), but it had just enough warpage to prevent a snug fit when you put it back on (looked horrible as a display piece, but passable as a flimsy toy to us kids).

Not connected with any Irwin Allen show, but I recently picked up another Aurora kit from my childhood:  The Voyager, from the old Filmation Saturday morning cartoon version of FANTASTIC VOYAGE (as reissued by Moebius Models):

Not a fan of those smaller Marvel figures (stupid Legends Killers Hasbro!) but I'll give them this - at least the Wolverine is smaller than the other figures.

I don't understand why those smaller figures are so expensive, they're almost the same price as ML when they first came out. You'd think half the size would equal half the price.

I would say that Spindrift model is based on the photos of Deanna Lund with the Spindrift model taken in the late sixties.

By the way, Barbara - welcome aboard!

Hope you take some time to look around and we'll be seeing you in other threads soon!  There are some great ones, and great discussions, and great people here...  and hey, if you draw at all, show us some of your sketches in the "What's In Your Sketchbook" thread!
