Look at Doom's forearms. The one on top, the left one, narrows down to a fine point like a cone shape and the one on the bottom, the right one, has a huge section cut out of it for the left one to be where it is. There's NO WAY that looks right to me - can someone explain to me where his arms are? He'd have to be a skeleton in that armor to fit in the narrowest parts of those gauntlets!
Going back to what JB said earlier, NOW I see what he means by the 3D thing. I don't normally "think" in 3D the way JB seems to given his compositions and abilities, but now that I've seen it from a particularly glaring angle I completely understand. How can anyone look at the above statue and NOT see Doom's arms being horribly formed?
*** *** Yeah, the musculature showing through the Thor armor a few pages back didn't bother me but Doom's gauntlets in that (mini?) Bowen above are just unforgivable. I'm assuming that's the mini version of that Doom statue; are the gauntlets that bad on the large version as well?

You think he's obtuse in this thread, you should catch some of his greatest hits elsewhere on this board...But he draws a good Thor. ********* I agree completely with both of these statements.

The point is, does he like the figure/statue? Then who cares why he does? He likes it. That is all he needs to say. Agree with it or not, it's his perogative. I think a lot of stuff out therre look s like shit. but it's not my place to condemn people who like it. Taste is subjective. JPB may be a righteous cunt elswhere on the board, but he likes what he likes. How can anyone debate whether he's right or not in those circumstances? I mean for crying out loud...I like Xanadu. It's one of my favorite movies, and I love the soundtrack. Yeah it's shit, but I like it. Some of you need to get off your high horses.

The point is, does he like the figure/statue? ---------------- I thought the point was is the pose possible, and did he present his case well. It seems obvious to me the pose is not possible, and the armor picture he posted on the previous page to make his point failed utterly.

I guess the main point still stands, He likes it, whether or not the armor allows for that pose. His point may have failed utterly (which I believe it did BTW.) But why should anybody have to defend what they like? We all like stuff that is "wrong" or embarassing, or ridiculous. It all comes down to indiviual taste. If I showed you my DVD shelf, or my toy shelf, you'd most likely run away screaming. But I likes what I likes. Period. And I don't have to justify it.

It all comes down to indiviual taste.---- Saying "I like Xanadu!" and "Xanadu is a good movie!" are two different types of statements. Both types of statements are made upthread. I agree that no one needs to defend what they like. But declarations of what is "good" strikes me as up for debate.

JPB posts - often repeatedly - some of the poorest quality crap statues etc. in these threads, and when people take the time to express what it is that they don't like about something, his response is always something like "whatever, I like it."
Of course he's entitled to like it - but perhaps if he took the time to explain what he finds to be its redeeming features, and explain what and why he likes things, people would find his posts to be less annoying.
(And yeah, I thought this long before I found out what an ignorant raging homophobe he is.)

Leaping back to The Protector then, does anyone know if a toy version of it was ever produced? (Thinking like Diamond's various Enterprises over the last few years with the lights and sound.)
