Bought this today for THREE DOLLARS!

Now I only need Orion and Metron and I have every one I want (so everyone but the Superman).

What's with the white costume? ( I do like it, however).

White and gold was Dave's original color scheme. The colorist was not so informed, and used Marvel Girl colors. Dave somehow didn't see the error until the make-ready came in, or was overruled when he asked for it to be corrected before printing. I no longer recall the precise sequence.

In any case, Dave wanted the white and gold, and didn't get it.

(Truth to tell, given the bad printing and paper back then, white might not have been the optimum choice. On most pages, the backing page would almost certainly have shown thru the white areas.)

I have the Jack Kirby New Gods Superman.

I have yet to figure out why it's so f*cking hard to keep standing though. The rubber cape makes the figure pretty top-heavy.

Still, the best part about the figure is the chest emblem is reproduced pretty close to Kirby's funkified version of it. You don't get to see that most times when you see a pic online. Weirdly, I guess DC can't stomach the super "S" being distorted, in advertisements, and yet the character himself can be deformed however the writers/artists up there currently wish him to be.
