Nah. I have plenty of loose figures. Some (like the Super Powers) make really great displays in the packaging because the packaging itself is so great! I still have my original Super Powers toys I played with as a kid. New toys I treat on a case by case basis. Some stay in the packaging, some get opened, just depends on how I think they look better.

Much as I am in favor of freeing just about anything from the box it comes
in, I find many of the smaller figures, especially sets, display better when left
in their original packaging.

George, how long ago did you buy the Yamato? Have you ever thought of painting it?
I usually let my figures run free, but like JB I have that mini Green Lantern set (both of them) still in the box.

John,
Nice to see that you have some of the Marvel Super Squad. I thought you'd
like those. Have you seen the Beast? It is actually fuzzy.

i'm not sure about how long i've had the yamato... best guess 25 years... i
do remember it cost me $200 from a chinesse dealer downtown Toronto...
(if I got swindled, forgive me I was 16ish at the time...)
I suck at painting... every kit model I buy, I leave un-painted...

I love 'em. Cute as hell. Not crazy about the transparent Iceman, and of
course I had to paint the Angel's red parts black, but the rest are really neat,
and it's about the best Phoenix I've seen!
The Beast I have is blue, but does not appear to be actually fuzzy, tho.

JB, what're those Batman statues labeled as? Never seen 'em before.
And I'm surprised you didn't set up DC Direct Flash and Kid Flash on the Cosmic Treadmill that comes inside with 'em in the box.

Kirby always drew Iron Man's early armor (gray and then yellow -- sorry, "gold") with a "skirt." I never understood how that thing was supposed to move with along with the armor's legs. I don't think that Don Heck ever drew the armor with it.
