When I got my cat from CT Humane, they told me his name was Po Po. That really did not fly for me, but to reduce his trauma I decided to call him Poe. I figured the almost-the-same name would ease his transition. (Seemed to work.) Something similar, then, with Wolverine’s costume. Something familiar to ease him back into the routine of his life.

One of the oft-missed aspects of Guardian’s mask/helmet is that, unlike Batman or Daredevil, it does not shape itself to the contours of his face.

I'm might be a lone wolf (!) at the moment in saying "Booooooo!"
But only because I like the brown costume so much. I wonder if a part of it stems from my first exposure to Wolverine being in the Brown and Tan way back when I was a wee lad. It took another year or so before I came across the Dark Phoenix Saga TPB and saw him in the yellow and blue, and I was a bit revulsed. Especially because of the metal shoulder pads! It just seemed to go against the character in my mind, even though I know that that's how he was created.
But the comment about easing him back into his routine gives me hope!

(Don’t tell anyone, Vinny, but the switch to yellow and blue is only temporary. Although, given the way time unfolds in ELSEWHEN, “temporary” could mean five or six years!)

Then my hope has been granted!
(Honestly, I was speculating to myself from back when it was indicated that his memories would be reset to GSXM#1 that he'd see the brown costume and go "What's this crap?")

Atchully, when I make the switch, I’ll have to be careful there’s no suggestion that he prefers my version. No reason to insult John Romita!
