And here again, I got it wrong. I thought that JB would have the claws be apart of Wolverine's gloves at first, fail on a mission, and the claws installed during a follow-up procedure without Logan's knowledge or permission.

That last panel has to be an expert use of perspective (I hope that's the right word. People on different planes and their relationship to one another).

Really tense sequence. I wasn't sure if the claws were implanted yet, but if so...any of these people could have wound up dead. Being around Wolverine must be nerve wracking.

What I would consider a "definitive" Wolverine scene would be for Scott to come down to the kitchen for breakfast to find him at the table, munching his Cheerios, with Kitty lying disemboweled on the floor.

Seems she said "good morning" in just the wrong tone of voice. . . . .

JB: I know it may seem I do a lot of MINE! MINE! MINE! around here, but when it comes to X-Men lore a lot of basic foundation came from the dark corners of my own mind. And Wolverine, as many of you know, was a pet project for me.

I'm really glad that you've been able to do this. It must be a relief to give readers this story after it's been in your head for so long.

(And I *thought* the "every time" bit was yours!)

I didn't want to speculate but at the end of page 8 I thought page 9 would open with the orderly being accidentally disemboweled as Logan's claws came out.

---One of the only things that the movies did right was the scene where Rogue asks him if it hurts when he pops the claws, to which he replies "Every time".

----------------------------------------

When I was reading JB's first run on X-Men, because of the housings on his gloves I always just assumed that the...holes?....were always there and the claws just popped out. Not until the above line in the first movie did I realize there was pain every time.

The assumption is that the exit wounds heal, just like any other part of our boy Logan.

Something else to factor into his charming personality.

(I had considered that the medics might "hem" the wounds on the backs of his hands, but I decided the healing factor would work around that.)

Who originated the  "best there is at what I do" line and "bub"?

That was a great line in the X-MEN movie, but actually seeing the impact on him like in today's panel has left an indelible impression.

Jim Peterson: "And here again, I got it wrong. I thought that..."

Daniel Gillotte: "I didn't want to speculate but at the end of page 8 I thought
page 9 would.."

We've asked repeatedly to stop speculating on the story, and I think that
includes reporting the results of how you scored yourself at home. It feels like
a lawyerly parsing of our request to still get those guesses on the record.
Please stop as you may stumble on something that is yet to come.
