I might regret admitting this, since no one seems to have noticed as far as I can tell, but I have been deliberately avoiding creating new characters in ELSEWHEN. Concerns about ownership, y'see. That may change, but not soon. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ About avoiding creating new characters: Aren't Carla and Pablo new characters? Also you can still use characters as Caliban (your version, not the Morlock one) or other already-existing characters at the time as Siryn (I don't know why Claremont didn't think about including her in the original NM when she had been introduced only about a year ago). Siryn could be a good excuse to bring Juggernaut, the only? classic X-Men villain that Mr.Byrne didn't have the occassion to draw except for a small cameo in UXM #122 and the flashback in UXM #138. Also a good excuse to bring back Banshee!

How do you make BANDAGES look good, Mr. Byrne???••• Unrivaled genius. *** Our host casts his gaze down to his bandaged drawing hand. Friction-burned by his lightning drawing speed.

I like how Wolverine is shown to be shorter than most guys here. I hate how often he is drawn as 6' tall or was played by a tall actor in the movies. He was short at first and should be kept that way. Just adds something to him imo.
As to younger mutants - I've been going on the assumption anything created after Mr. Byrne left the X-Men won't show up here. We are seeing a kinda/sorta New Mutants here with Kitty & Ashley & Pablo. As others said you could mix in Franklin and other kid mutants from pre-1982 (or other stuff Byrne has done for Marvel) but I wouldn't expect it. This crew is a nice size and fun to read. No need to add 1001 other characters to it. Suddenly had an imagine of Elsewhen - X-Men, Elsewhen - New Mutants, Elsewhen - Wolverine, Elsewhen - the lawsuit, Elsewhen - Byrne snaps from too many titles. Like everyone else there are characters I'd love to see mixed in but there really isn't a need for it. This is a fun ride - no need to add flashing lights and a waterfall to it.

Very chuffed that Jahf is still present - looking forward to what the next page might bring in terms of revealing his motivation for staying with the "x-fam". Also great to see that Logan seems to be mending!

This page is full of quiet pay-offs. Wow.
Jahf being glad to stay? Wolverine being uniquely sensitive and revealing feelings he's long held, but never spoken? Gold.
These are the kind of details that make me so much less reluctant when I have to pay those punishingly high annual JBF fees!

Wolverine was supposed to be 5’5” when I started drawing him, so I generally made him about 5’2”, for emphasis. (Similarly, Colossus was around 6’7”, so I made him 7’.)

Man. Someone mentioned Juggernaut above. I LOVE the Byrne- rendition. He’d be someone cool to show up that you’ve not “really” done yet, JB. IIRC, tho, you’ve said in the past you’re not a big fan of the character. Am I misremembering?

I will never tire of the "of that robot is deactivated" or "that monster is dead"- EYES OPEN Trope. It's so good. And, I always find the Sentinels to be a scary threat.

For character heights it makes a ton of sense to have a big bigger spread than 'reality' - so 5'5" as 5'2", 6'7" as 7'. Makes things better visually. Sadly, like you said, too often people go too extreme - 3' or 10' for heights or all are the same size (men 7', women 5' unless they are supposed to be tall). Out of curiosity, what was the height you went with for She-Hulk generally? I'm guessing 7' or a bit more. Love seeing varieties of sizes like we see in the real world.
Jahf is fun and I'm glad he is sticking around. A good set of personalities in this to enjoy. No fun if everyone is the same - I don't get why some writers do that as I'd think that would be boring to write but 10 characters with their own personalities then you can do all kinds of things.
Glad Juggernaut isn't one of JB's favorites as he is a bit dull imo - rip helmet off so Prof X can put him to sleep. Yawn. Guess he and Magneto buy their helmets at the same place - You'd think more would do that in a universe where mind reading is a thing.
