I can only compare the Sentinels to the Cyber Men of Doctor Who. Although they used to be organic like The Borg, they also seem scariest when their circular eyes are blankly staring and their mouths are at best mechanically moving flaps.

While I did not enjoy The New Mutants as a title (though it had its moments), I did like some of the individual characters created for that project. And if JB introduced some of them at some later point to expand the school, I would not mind at all.
Though, of course, there is a limit of how many characters a book can properly portray without losing good characterization. At this point we don't even know how many X-Men are on the team after the last events!

I'd expect that any "new mutants" we see will be JB's creations alone, not the work of a different writer. Because... why? On that basis, we're already *seeing* a number of characters who could become the next class, right?

Do you have any conscious self-imposed "editorial edicts" in place as you write Elsewhen?
Maybe that's a weird question, but somehow this sounds to me like something you might do.

The third/fourth/fifth panels of yesterday's page had me so uncomfortable that I didn't even see the Professor Xavier panel on the page until I scrolled down this morning for the new page. Kittie's powers are terrifying!

On that basis, we're already *seeing* a number of characters who could become the next class, right?•• I might regret admitting this, since no one seems to have noticed as far as I can tell, but I have been deliberately avoiding creating new characters in ELSEWHEN. Concerns about ownership, y'see. That may change, but not soon.
