Happy little moment today, as I realized that in just four pages I will catch up to a bunch of stuff I drew out ahead of what I was working on at the time. Nine pages, no less. Almost half an issue!Yay!

Gary Seven from Assignment Earth had future knowledge. I think that story was an influence on the '70s English Sapphire & Steel series.
I tried to get every interview I could find with Dave Cockrum talking about his Futurians because I wanted to know what the plans for Mosquito's sister might've been. Just finding out about a Futurians Return book sold through Kickstarter, maybe it would've completed things for me...
Yes, no idea where things go from here but looking forward to finding out! Jack Vance and Heinlein stories usually had that effect on me, what they call a page-turner. B^)

Gary Seven from Assignment Earth had future knowledge.••• Not necessarily. Much has been made of Seven recognizing that a Vulcan in the crew meant knowledge of the Future, but all it really means is that he knew (then) present day Earth had made no interstellar contacts.

I always assumed the Shi'ar more or less had any remaining down/plumage on their body in the same way humans had our own hair. They otherwise looked human. Both species eliminated much of the body hair/feathers of their evolutionary line. And just like people, the Shi'ar probably had a variety of people at different levels. Just like we have some very hairy humans and some who have almost no body hair at all, same with them.
Lilandra's sister, Deathbird from the Ms Marvel comics, is supposed to be an atavistic "missing link" so her plumage likely shows the spots where any heavily plumaged baseline Shi'ar would have extra feathers.
If I recall correctly, JB once drew her in an issue of Avengers fighting Hawkeye. Does anyone remember if it was known at the time that Deathbird was a Shi'ar?

Chris - I think that was only Deathbird's second ever appearance (after the character debuted in Ms. Marvel) - both in the late 70s, if memory serves. I don't think Deathbird was identified as Shi'ar until quite a few years later.

I especially like the final panel. The slight hint of forms underneath the darker outlines gives the figures a really neat ghostly look.

I love the look of the plasma and all of the shading around the engine. That's a wonderfully complicated structure and great perspective.
