Let me offer some more praise for the art in that last panel. Looks great!

Kitty's dialogue concerning the D'Bari seems appropriate when you consider she's in her salad days...

I felt badly for the D'Bari... until they zapped their first earthling bystander. Can't we all just sit down with a cuppa and talk things over? I'm sure someone has custard cremes if not jammy-dodgers...

What an absolute thrill to see Scott and Kitty teaming up - and that is some
intensity in that last panel.

The series we never expected gets better and better with each issue. I just
love the tapestry of characters you're weaving here, JB.

To avoid confusion as to when the D'Bari speak their own language and English, we could use the traditional comic book brackets within the word balloons to denote a foreign language.  I was actually surprised not to see it on the page when Cyclops mentioned he did not understand them.

Things generally work best when we don't attempt to explain why certain powers work as they do.  However, I think at times it can be fun to figure out explanations as long as people don't get hung up over them.  In a comic book world, science simply works differently.  And I think even these extrapolations may lead to something useful like the character developing a "new" power (or use of it) provided it 1) still makes sense thematically for that character, and 2) the new power proves interesting from a long term storytelling perspective.  That is different than simply wanting to explain everything encyclopedia style which usually does not add anything to the comic but exists solely to be pedantic which erases the mystery and wonder.

I too feel sympathetic towards the D'Bari.  They are trying to bring a criminal to justice.  I wonder how they'll react to the explanation, since I don't see what evidence the X-Men could provide to convince them.  But Jahf is there.

I like this portrayal of Kitty too.  It'll be interesting to see how she develops while remaining a "kid".

I'm going to assume you're all fathers, because this is some pretty bad 'Dad' humor...

BTW, I'm a dad, too, so you're kinda speaking my language. ;)
