JB, will we learn why this Jean was becoming intangible?
Also, I am making an assumption that your original pages from Fantastic Four 286 (that were rewritten before publication) still hold true?
Just doing some sleuthing here.

Does the forestry fall into the category of "argle-bargle"? (Great word!)
Also, beautiful page today. Your Cyclops/Scott is the only one that looks right any more, and every glimpse of Jean-as-Phoenix is a visual treat too. Clean, simple lines, yet so expressive. My eyes soak it up so fast, I almost can't "see it" at first look.
While not evident today, had you considered that when you "whiten" certain elements post-scan (for effect), you are venturing into the field of digital painting? Padding your resume? :)

Padding your resume? :) Already bin there! ANGEL - BLOOD AND TRENCHES was a black and white book with color, specifically snow and blood. And I did that on the scans.

This year has not been kind to all of us on many levels. Personally Ive
suffered a number of losses that sent me to a very dark place. I can
honestly say that this series has been a consistent source of relief
throughout it all.
Heartfelt thanks for doing this and for the constant high quality of
entertainment over 40 plus years. Respect.

That big shot of Scott with the Phoenix is such a great figure. Scott looks lean, but strong and flexible the kind of guy who could survive a drop from a massive height with nothing but eye beams to slow him down.

I've been out-of-comics for a long while. That looks awesome! In the sneek-peek on Amazon, there's a quality to the art that has in some ways has a very different style. I wouldn't guess it was yours in many of the panels (others definitively, yes). More shading perhaps because of a pencils-only format?
I always treasured your Baron Blood vampire run in Captain America as well.

BLOOD AND TRENCHES was pencils only, but, unlike ELSEWHEN, it was pencils that were not intended to be inked. So, a whole tonal "experience".(I sometimes wonder if there are A-B&T pages I have sold that have ended up in the tender loving care of someone who felt they would be improved by inking. And, sadly, I know some inkers who would do it without hesitation.)

I have been trying to resist being a simulationist/RPG/nit-picker...but since y'all brought it up...
I really liked how Cyclops once used his pulsed optic-blasts to slow down Wolerine's fall at the end of the Proteus saga (perhaps my all-time favorite story-line in the X-men). That application totally works for me.
But...if Cyclops' beam "push back at him" via Newton's-Law to slow him down when falling, then aren't they also pushing him horizontally every time he uses them?
Sorry, I've got an engineer's brain that won't shut up.
EDIT: Maybe that's why he often "leans into them"...
