Although it would make me happy, I’m sure we won’t see the Champions showing up. Or Iron Fist. •• No. This is, after all, an X-Men series, not a John Byrne anthology!

Only read the page with Sue descending into the building today -- so much story in one page. Feels like there is more in there than half an issue of a decompressed, modern comic. And a nice-mini cliffhanger to boot. What has happened to Franklin? I shudder to think.
Moving on to the latest page... Our heroes are in trouble!

It’s easy to imagine a “decompressed” (ie, poorly written) version of Sue’s page. At least a page of angst while she decides to quit the battle to search for Franklin (which I covered with one caption). Another page for her to enter the building, another to descend thru the basement levels. Half a page at least for her to cross to Gyrich.

It just hit me how grateful I am to see these issues in the "raw" so to speak.
One giant reason is I was suddenly grateful there is no modern color on these.
I mean "dodged a bullet" - kind of grateful.
I hope this is as rewarding to JB as it is to me. I have a feeling that "history" is going to treat this project kindly.

With Sue's "No!" and Logan's "incoming" I feel like we are about to see some crazy splash pages. I could be wrong because we already got a full page "It's Clobbering Time" at the end of last issue and a full page Thing to kick off this one, but the setups in this issue might give us eye popping splashes soon. Did we just see Colossus loose a leg on page 17?! Time will tell.

Re: Colossus' leg - that brings up an interesting question. If it's severely damaged, would he not switch back to his human form (at least for a while)?

I think they did that. Anyway, here Peter is just going to be hobbled for a wee bit.
