Amanda! Now that's a thread I've been wondering about. I had assumed that was some sort of decoy.

wayyyy ahead of schedule/release: draw your
sentinel story then your Magneto one, your Jean
one, your Shiar...or in any order, compulsory end
of page cliffhanger, mix them up and voilà !!! A-
 ma-zing.

I learned, long before I turned Pro, that Jack Kirby used to draw scenes, shuffle them into some kind of coherent order, then add bridging pages to bring it all together. I've worked much the same way many times in my career.

 | (I've also practiced the sometimes nerve-racking approach of simply starting on page one and hoping I run out of story on page 22.* Most of my FF run was done that way.) _________________________ * In the days when the issues held 22 pages of story.

Very nice page -I don't think I've ever seen the Sentinels looking more sinister. Just the subtle angles above the eyes of the rightmost Sentinel seems to sell it.

It would make am excellent cinematic moment in some future MCU movie.

Thanks goodness it seems to be "only" seven, and not 132, or our heroes would be in for it...

Taking advantage here of the original plan to ink on blue line, which allows me to do with the pencils what I could usually only do with inked pages, namely cloning elements in Photoshop rather than drawing them. Thus, in panels 1 thru 4, single Sentinels becomes many.

 | (In the last panel I cloned one Sentinel when I decided I needed more than I had originally drawn.)

Dang! Can you imagine getting to read *this* shortly after Days of Future Past? The stakes are enormous, even with the FF and Avengers on hand.

Not sure how you’re working “Days of Future Past” into this, Richard. This timeline picks up immediately after 137, not after I left the book.

JB, how much do you tinker with the copy before we see a page? We focus a lot on the art here, but wondered about that other aspect.

Dialog goes thru three or four rewrites, sometimes major, sometimes minor.

The sneak peek of this great, creepy page was posted April 30th of last year and I've been waiting for its insertion ever since.  Glad technology made it easier to update (I see an added Sentinel clone in panel three, as well!)
