Another reason I love the pencils - in this age of everything being digitized and perfected within an inch of its life, it's really something to see the raw pencils, evoking more emotion and action than most films who try to do the same.

This page 22 is almost perfect for me. Extremely "cinematographic", in its various divisions, particularly panel 3 with Kitty. It is so perfect that it seems "easy" (but only if you call yourself JB, I presume ...). Do you have any pages (already published) that have caused you more problems so far JB?

Every page presents its own set of challenges. Even on something as simple as WHEELIE AND THE CHOPPER BUNCH I sometimes found myself working harder than usual to portray what was described in the script. Script is the key word, of course. When I write for myself I often recall something Mike Grell said years ago: “Mike Grell doesn’t write anything Mike Grell can’t draw.” I’m not always true to that dictum, but it does make sense. Which brings us to a page from a few years back, where the writer had presented me with a poker game. No problem there—except that it was written full script, and no attention was paid to the ORDER in which the characters spoke. Took me the better part of a day to figure out how to place and rotate my camera so everyone could remain seated and still speak in the order required.

Slightly surprised to find myself saying: "Yes! More Kitty!"
I think I'd forgotten how much what I liked about her got paved over and I'm so happy with how easy it is to bring it all back!
I love the sight of her lying half-way in the floor!

The view numbers are mystifying me. The count on the art thread currently stands at just over 8000, which is about 400 views per page. Which is half the current JBF membership!

Iconic Kitty Pryde, both visually and character-wise. What a blast. : )

The counter has some kind of flaw - I remember it resetting itself other times.
What is amazing to me, or maybe not given the sad state of affairs, is this is the best Marvel comic in decades - literally.
