Take away the shadows, and Nightcrawler is no longer Nightcrawler. He's just some blue guy.

I remember when I first found out about this forum nearly two years ago. I had just found out that JB was doing commissions through another site and it felt like my whole world shattered.

Not only was I able to catch up on hundreds of commissions, but the prospect of having one of my favorite artists draw something I would like to see him draw almost made my head explode. Wow. So far two ideas down and many more hopefully to come.

Again, this is a beautiful piece and congrats on the commissioner and a thanks to JB.

For as far back as I can recall - Nightcrawler had a power that he would become near invisible in the shadows.  A power I think Marvel forgot about in recent years (decades?).   As such -- I always pictured him being a strange fellow to look at -- since the parts of his face and hands or other exposed areas (arms, legs, etc) would be constantly and momentarily disappearing from the visible spectrum as he moved around in the natural light/shadows of any given day.  Nothing drastic -- just that sort of "did I just see that?" effect.  At night time it would be enhanced to where you'd be double blinking to clear your vision as I figured he'd have this sort of "fuzzy" ness to him in the darker lighting.

Maybe I over thought it.

What I got were gobbledegook answers and a clear impression nobody had thought this thru. Which is why, when I became artist on the book, I used that aspect of the character all of once -- and that time Chris did not write the scene as I intended!

And Marvel has not "forgotten" this power, btw. They've actually retconned it out of existence, even redrawing panels in reprints!
