This commission instantly brought to mind one of my very favorite lines of Wolverine dialogue: "You've all been misjudgin' me since the day I joined this turkey outfit!"

Nicely done!! I don't think any artist comes close to drawing Wolverine as well as you do.

By the way -- before any of the artists among you call me on it, I want to point out that, yes, I did break a "rule" on this one, by having Wolverine leading with his left arm and his left leg.

---

What is that rule? I've never heard of it.

••

Walk across the room, swinging the same limbs on each side, right together, then left together, then right, then left, and so on.

Does it feel natural?

To be fair, how could ANY of them have guessed it was Wolverine who was the wise and calming influence who convinced Xavier to found the X-Men!

I second Andrew Bitner's comment. I can't remember the last time I saw Wolverine smiling like that.

This brings to mind some experiences that I've had with deer in my lifetime.  You really can't get close to them like that, unless they're caged or semi-domesicated.  They've had so much experience with humans hunting them or knocking them off with automobiles that they're quite jumpy and will dart off as soon as they see you.  Wolverine was practicing his stalking techniques in that issue, and was good enough at it to get nearly within arm's length of his target.

For a guy like me that likes to see if he can sneak up to a rabbit in the yard (and I'm nowhere near as nimble as the Wolvster), I can imagine his thoughts.  "Just a bit closer..."

One of my favorite moments from JB's run, but in the better uniform.  Excellent work, JB

And a great idea, Commissioner!

Very nice, JB. Love the forest and the beautiful deer. The smile on Wolverine's face is just icing on the cake.

JB, I remember you showing us pictures of some woodland neighbors
visiting your backyard one day. Are any of them reference for this little
one?

Beautiful.

As for the left leg/left arm business, Andy Mokler explains it well.
