This is probably the best drapery job I've seen JB pull off! That jacket sleeve is stupendous! And see how the jeans's creases flow with the movement of... "Logan's leap"...!

Wow. This one is wicked cool. I am SO a fan of the grey tones. Add me to the list that would like to see it in COLD WAR.

For me, I find most impressive the drapery, the expression on Logan's face, the subtle choices on lighting, and the positioning of the three characters to fit in the requested portrait dimensions. It seems to me JB had to layer the three carefully, or the piece would be flat. A landscape might have been easier, as far as composition. That it works so perfectly like this is a testament to how well he knows what he's doing. Very dynamic.

I don't think it gets much cooler: starting out with an awesome commish--then having that personalized for extra-additional-awesomeness.
Colour me jelly-jelly for jealous!

Fun piece of personalisation.
Looking at the picture again, I'm struck by how crazy Logan looks! That is one fierce guy!

Guh!

Not yet, not yet. But soon. Maybe...
OK. So, how do commissioners actually wrench themselves away from staring at all the fine, loving detail in these commissions, actual size, when it's so damn hard to do, here on the Forum? Do they get their partners to slap them every five minutes?

You can't look away for a VERY long time, Aki. Perhaps my next one will be different, but I found myself online quite a bit either whispering to myself, "I can hardly believe that artwork is mine" or going to other sites linking the images to friends and family that thought I was insane. Byrne commissions are by far the greatest vice on the planet, but I may have a biased opinion.

A fantastic Logan image. The gray tones work great with the subject matter. It's June right now but when I view the commission, it sure feels like October.

Grey tones still impress! Logan's coat may be the best clothing item you've ever drawn, JB. At least, in my opinion.
