Stopped at my LCS today to pick up one or two more copies to give away, but none on the shelves.  I didn't bother to ask the owner because he's a rather surly bloke who treats every question as a huge imposition; I hate to bother someone by trying to give him my money.

I have a couple of question for JB and the board.

1. If JB and Hollywood decided to make a Trio movie, should the movie be live action,CGI,or traditional 2D cel animation?

2. Who would you cast to play the Trio in a live action movie?

I know this is a bit late, but TRIO #1 was included in IDW's video comic book preview for May 9th.

Too long a while! When I bought what was then the most recent update of Strata, probably about ten years ago now, I found they had abandoned anything like an "intuitive" interface. After going a few years without doing any elaborate modeling, when I came back to Strata to model some ships for my STAR TREK work, I discovered I'd completely lost the knack!

Ahh that's right... I remember finding out at the Cafe, that you were working with Strata a "few years" back. I remember wondering if this could be the same JB, and he's working with Strata? Went to your site and awesome, it was.
I know what you mean about getting away from the continual use of it. I've used it for most of my single object modeling and liked it more than Light Wave. But I my works taken me away from using it as much.

You must have been pretty efficient. How much time did a cover take to create in Strata?

Victor -- that's a nice story - but I find it really hard to believe.  If it is true, you should find yourself a new comic shop.  There are plenty online shops that offer discounted books and great shipping prices, etc.

I don't understand the "black bag" part.

What's the name of this shop? Where is it?

It wasn't until the STAR TREK work at IDW that I really started building models specifically to use in my comics. Most of the models that appeared before that had been "customized" out of models I'd made before, for my own amusement.

That meant that the actual construction of the models for comic use didn't generally take all that long. What ate up the time was the RENDERING!
