That would be a lot of fun. If this series proves successful, perhaps more of these types of books could follow.
I like what I see from the issue #2 preview. Looks like we've got a good ol' fashioned mystery on our hands.

Gah. As I read that I was hoping you'd say you WANTED to finished your FF run. It's a much better example of a creator being "swiped away" before finishing up what he started. I have always wanted to see what would have happened in your version of FF 296 and 300.

I just read the preview and did find it appealing. It feels to me like Claremont has been asked to get back to some "classic (new) X-Men" stories instead of what he might have done at the time.

My link to the Forum decided to misbehave just as I
attempted to post my last missive. I'd added an
additional line -- wondering if the misrepresentation of
Wolverine's claws (especially since one is broken!) might
be some kind of clue.
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
From what we've seen on future covers and an incident in
issue #1 Wolverines "broken" claw was somehow phased into
Kitty.

Another mishandling of Kitty's powers?
I suppose I should just give up on this. The moment I let go of her, she was
bound to get mangled -- and did.

It didn't get mangled because of her power, it's due to someone else's power that messed her up with Wolverine.

Another mishandling of Kitty's powers?
At the time another mutant was affecting their powers.
Cortez's powers have never been perfectly defined other
than one aspect that he can "boost" another mutants power
until it's "out of control". He was "boosting" Wolverine
and Kitty grabbed his arm to "phase him free" and her arm
got stuck "phased" inside Wolverine's arm. We still haven't
seen the how yet, just a cover, to issue 4 I think,
with Kitty sporting a claw on her right hand.

Five issues and only one night? Really? Ugh.

You should give it a chance before judging it. The Galactus trilogy was only a few hours. I doubt this will be talking heads for five issues.

The first issue of X-Men Forever certainly wasn't a "talking heads" comic. Lots of super-heroic action and danger galore. It certainly wasn't about the X-Men sitting around the mansion bumping their gums.

One of the more demanding challenges to my STAR TREK stuff at IDW --
coming up with interesting ways for characters to sit and stand, and sit and
stand, and sit and stand. . . .

I paged through it last week. I saw Jean kissing Wolverine. I'm intimately familiar with Claremont. I know his writing style, where there are many pages of expository dialog and long winded conversations. In short, I think I know enough about a) Claremont and his X-Men and b) what I like in a comic to know that this going back to the well is just not for me. So, yeah, I can judge it without ponying up $3.99 for several months to decide that I don't want to buy it.

Well thats different. I just meant it should not be judged because the story takes place in a day. Lots of things can happen in a day.
