This* is alleged to be the words of Breevort. I would say its far from a
guarantee that an X-Men Evermore book, as we've discussed, would be
greenlit. It reads, to me at least, that he'd push to welcome JB back, if JB
makes the call.
---
If each person thinks the other should make the call, it's probably not going
to happen any time soon.

I think everyone, JB excepted, needs to let bygones be bygones concerning XMHY. It was eight years ago now, it was a completely different Marvel to the one we have today.•• No it's not. Brevoort, for instance, is one of the people who was there then, in roughly the same position. And Quesada, who is the one who actualy canceled XHY, is still in exactly the same position. ++ JB, you're right, they should be calling you initially - but is it not worth you being the bigger man and calling them, even though it really should be the other way round, so you can once again be reunited with the characters you love so dearly? •• Will you provide the K-Y jelly?

I agree JB, just sit back and let us know if the phone
rings. Let's see if Marvel is really is as poorly run as we
think it is or they prove everyone wrong.

Y'know, even if this stays just a fun thought excercise, it had me really excited about the X-Men in a way I hadn't been in years. For a little while I felt 10 years old again -- when I discovered JB and learned about "his X-Men." And I was as excited as I would have been then at the thought of JB picking up where he left off. And thats pretty damn good.
So, for that at least, thanks JB!

Well said Geoff. I agree 100% between CC's new series and just the thought of a JB X-Men series has me very excited about the possibilities it could bring.

OK, those two are still in the same positions as they were back then, but Dan Buckley is publisher now, not Bill Jemas, and an awful lot changed at Marvel when Dan took charge. Joe was very new to the job back then, and many of Bill's "edicts" were phased out fairly swiftly after he left. Heck, Uncle Rog is back working there now, and on one of the flagship books to boot. They're obviously respecting him, same goes for Chris Claremont - and no offence to either, but you're a bigger "pull" than they are.
I totally understand why you'd be expecting them to screw you over again, but I honestly don't think that would happen. I don't for one second expect you to take my word for it because I'm bottom of the food chain, but from my own experiences there and from reading about others' experiences in the past few years, I can say that it's a great company to work for right now.

Good companies care about their alumni. If Marvel cares about JB, they can make the first move. I don't mean to mind read here but I don't think JB's looking for a public apology -- I think he's looking for assurances. If he makes the call how can he be sure that he'd get even that?

Not looking for any sort of apology, no. Not looking for anything other than an ironclad assurance that what happened on HIDDEN YEARS would not be repeated on this, or for that matter any, future project.Starting with the book not being canceled while still profitable, and still on schedule.

And again, my words carry zero clout, but that just wouldn't happen now. Take Tom DeFalco's Spider-Girl as an example - that book just wasn't getting the numbers to justify it staying in print, but Marvel still kept publishing it for a good while regardless, because they knew it had a loyal audience. They even tried relaunching it in an attempt to save it. They just plain won't axe a book if it's profitable now - and maybe I view the world through rose-tinted goggles, but there's no way a JB book wouldn't be profitable right now. Look at the hits on this thread - the demand is there.
