I would buy a JB X-Men comic the day it came out...and I haven't bought a comic in years! Heck, it wouldn't even be my first choice of Byrne dream projects (Next Men or FF would be first) and I'd be there!!

Wallace, Leonard "Stinky" Brown is a favorite of mine!

Thinking about it, there's a possible reason why Marvel is putting out books like X-Men Forever and Spider-Man Clone Saga. They've reached a point in their movie production where they've used up the best original storylines from the comics. In "X3" they completely screwed up the adaptation of the Dark Phoenix saga and Days of Future Past. And the past three decades of X-Men comics has been a rehash of just those two stories. Spider-Man 3 featured Venom, which says a lot about how far down the barrel they're digging.
Giving Claremont carte blanche to do what he wants with the X-Men may be an indication of how desperate Marvel is for new stories their screenwriters can use in the movie franchises. They might be very happy to have JB doing his X-Men as well.

Same basic principle as the ULTIMATE books.

That Cyclops is absolutely fantastic. Like seeing an friend I haven't seen in
years.
Many thanks, JB. This is a blast to think and read about. For someone like
me who loves those issues you did, it's fun to see your thought process with
this.

The thing I loved the most about your Cyclops was the visor, no one drew it like you and no one ever will. The closest I saw anyone get was Paul Smith in his last issue (175) but still wasn't the same.

Fixed that for you. No charge for that one. No, no ... don't
thank me.
Look, if this book ever happens, don't be ashamed to admit that you can't
draw moustaches, Mr Byrne. I'll be here for you -- you just have to ask. :-)
Cheers!
Jim

Ugh. With that mustache he looked like Colonel Wyndham Price. What, ho, my X-men. Once more into the breach.

OK, I really hope someone at Marvel seriously considers this thing. An editor already said he would try his best to have this printed, Claremont is game for the "duel", JB is obviously in the proper mindset, provided the book gets some support from higher up... Now I just can't WAIT for this book. Those doodles are amazing. How could they possibly pass them by?
