I've become chummy with the guy who works the counter at the Chinese
place from which I pick up take-out once or twice a week. I gave him copies
of the NEXT MEN phonebooks. The other day, when I went in, there was
another guy behind the counter. "Oh," he said, "you're the graphic
novelist."
I bit my tongue and just said "Yeah."
