Is there some sort of treatment that can be applied to the pencilled pages that will keep ink from "sticking" to them?

Yes, and I will be using it (fixer) on this before I send the original off to
Lawren. (Already sent a scan.) But that doesn't stop someone getting an
inker to work on an overlay. And, believe me, when you have seen as many
pieces inked with what looks like tar on the end of a horse's leg, because
"my buddy wanted to try his hand at inking" ---- well, you take steps to
prevent it as much as you can!

Using the edge of the tire as the J in your signature is inspired. _____________
JB, Is this what you intended? Or did you hide your sig because it's not ending up in the tattoo? Seemed odd to me you would hide your name on a piece that's not your normal forte.
Great piece, hope we get to see the tattoo. What's next? Paul Newman eating hard boiled eggs?

As I have already observed, I just know that when the ANGEL pages start to go on the market, Terry Austin and Joe Rubenstein (among others) will be getting calls.

Ouch! I think a little piece of me somewhere inside just died. From what we've seen of those Angel pages so far and given that they won't be inked as published it seems so counterproductive to alter the art... even if it's done by such greats. Now if someone bought one of the pages and then commissioned Terry or Joe to make an inked version from a copy with a lightbox, as a supplement, I could understand that. Might be fun. But actually inking the pencils... ouch!
Oh, and a nice tattoo piece.

First thing that came to mind for me when I saw the thread was the John Wayne movie of the same name.
