If'ns i remember right, at the start of this lil' featurette it's explained that these ranking are as Spider-Man himself precieves the characters - clearly he over and underestimates some of his cohorts.

Originally Wonder Man's strength was supposed to match Giant-Man's. His fists were supposed to be as hard as Thor's hammer. I like him with Thor class strength.

Don't care for the art. Seems pretty bland and the heights of the characters are way off.
And why is Black Bolt in the heavyweights section? If the skill discussed here is strength, that is not at the foremost of BB's skillset.

Here's my guess: Greunwald wrote him two levels below, but then let
egomaniacal Bob Layton draw it. When he got the art back to script,
suddenly Iron Man was right there at the top, and he had to write the
incredibly stiff, self-important dialogue we got there to justify it.
Wait a minute. Incredibly stiff, self-important dialogue...
Layton drew him there AND wrote the explanation!

I remember when I was a kid seeing some kind of report with the picture of the hero (4 by page) and his height, weight and stranght of several heroes and villains. I remember some facts like Hulk, Thor and Herc were 100 t class, spidey was 10t, Vision was 20t Colossus was 75 t (or 70t), Namor was 75t and the Thing was 85t... anyone know of this and in which comic book it came out? thnx.

Iron Man now is easily on the top class. His armor keeps getting stronger! Of course, pissed-off Hulk is still the strongest there is.
Silver Surfer's strength is meaningless. It's not like he engages in fisticuffs! Even if he is stronger than, say, the Thing he has no significant hand-to-hand combat skills anyway.
Wonder Man is a very interesting character. On paper, he is a scary powerhouse. Strong as Thor and pratically immortal (being made of energy, he has no human vulnerabilities and can't be detroyed). Yet, he hasn't a super-hero mentality. He can't use his enormous powers in significant ways, he messes things up, he is outperformed by his (usually) much weaker teammates... He is his own worst enemy! On the right hands, he could be a top character.

I never understood why Cap was listed within "normal human" range. The super soldier serum must not have been very super.
