Oh no, I had managed to be happy about not buying the Batman chess set, but if they're going to have those figures for it now . . .

Re = Element Lat.

I thought I knew this panel, but I don't know the same one. I pulled out my french edition of some World's finest comics, and here is what I found. (iphone photos)

Here is the panel I was thinking of :

There : Element Lat is Element Boy.
Now, we can see that Light Lass became Pluma in french.

It's interesting to see that the display is the same.

(I did not check, but I think the art is by George Tuska)

Looks like a fun figure. I'm only familiar with the Timm version from the cartoon, and this doesn't hold 100% true to that, but it's not bad.

Not bad, Ventriloquist is one of those Batman villains that I find kind of fascinating. Arnold Wesker, the "meek" real person and then his alternative personality the brutal Scarface.  When I was reading still, I could feel bad for Wesker and at the same time be scared of Scarface.

The Ventriloquist has never felt like a REAL Batman villain to me. He doesn't feel odd enough...

I really like The Ventriloquist, but I like the Timm version better, because I think the fact the Timm version has him as a meek, awkwardly shy guy that lets his tough bad guy out, through his puppet, makes more sense to me. The figure up top, The Ventriloquist is too big and looks like he can take care of himself.  I do love the look of the dummy though.
