This came to mind when I saw that Excalibur cover, but now that I looked it up, its not close enough to be considered a real homage, is it?

My memory was playing tricks and making it look more like those other covers. I hadn't actually seen it in years until 5 minutes ago.

If that first splash is a Steranko homage, Steranko's piece is surely an Eisner Homage. I can't be specific , but it registers as one. It's certainly in the Eisner "style".
