Just dug out my sketchbook in hopes that I can get a few at the Big apple Con.... was struck, as I am everytime I see it, by the Bowen sketch that I was lucky enough to get. He asked me what I wanted drawn and I replied that I'd be thrilled with whatever he chose to do for me. Guess the guy doesn't really do sketches at cons, but when I asked out of ignorance, he quickly and graciously turned my page into this:

What's the "story" on the Thing/Rhino piece? I notice Ben is in the process of
reverting to his human form. I don't recall this particular battle -- tho, in all
honesty, I don't recall a Thing/Rhino tussle at all. I know I've missed a lot!
When did this one happen?

Hi JB,

Really no story behind it other than I thought this would be a neat looking battle, and couldn't recall an issue of Marvel team-Up, Two in One or FF that Ben fought the Rhino.  If there is one, anyone know when it occured?

I just figured an original costume Rhino and an "older" looking Ben would be fun.

I'll confess I'm disappointed! With the advance stipulation that it would of
course depend on who drew it, I would have been interested to see ol'
Bashful Benjamin battling the Rhino whilst simultaneously losing his powers!

(Hey! Forum rich guys! Commission this one from me!!)

I'm confused by this.  What do you mean by "older" looking Ben?

Is Ben reverting to human form or is that just the artist's stylistic version?

His right hand has five fingers and fingernails, and seems to be positioned
so as to draw attention to this. Since this is a pencil drawing, and easily
fixed if that was a mistake, I'm assuming it's deliberate.

I recall that the Thing fought the Rhino in issue 24 of 'The Thing', published in 1985ish. Miracle Man was in it too and it was probably like the 10th comic I ever owned.
