The Champions look as if they're having fun busting up those Sentinels. You know, that's simply not allowed in any new work of superhero art.

Black Widow makes having her hips crushed by robotic metal hands look like fun.

The Champions have a "weird that works" when it comes to static images or
as a novelty, but when i opened the recent collections, I felt very "ho hum"
about what I saw there.
A problem might be there's no unifying concept for the team. The X-Men are
mutants that band together, the JLA are the best of the best, the FF are
explorers...what exactly is the point of this team? To stick a bunch of
random heroes together?

My favorite part of this commission is Hercules tearing apart the Sentinel. Always enjoyed this character. Glad to see him done by JB.

Another beautiful commission!
One little question: who is the woman in the lower part of the picture, just under Angel? I'm not too familiar with the Champions. It might be a character I'm familiar with, but in a different costume perhaps?

Hercules is certainly a large part of this commission.

Good point James. I like a lot of these characters and yet this book didn't grab me.
Marvel Knights was quite similar in that it was a non-team but they got together for a reason plus the characters had some similarities (all street level crime fighters).
Takes nothing from this piece though!
