Thunderbird looks good, he's definitely going on my "to get" list.

It's a good year for manufacturers of boot fringe.

Definitely getting Thunderbird, but Forge is representative of the time when
the X-Men started losing me.

Thunderbird looks good. Is he still dead?

If he is he has an identical looking younger brother.

Heh, he does.  Warpath.  Who is supposed to be quite a bit larger these days.

Midtown has a sale going on that just started today.  Figures are up to 50% off.  There's a limited selection, though.  Figures, just when they sell out of Daredevil and Sasquatch.

I managed to pick up several of the older Marvels I've been missing at Emerald City Comic Con. The booth that sold them has a shop somewhat near to me so I stopped by today also and picked up some I didn't buy at the show. I'm still missing quite a few early Marvels, but the gap is narrowing. Save money on shipping this way instead of eBay.
I picked up the Pyro and Beta Ray Bill yesterday. Beta Ray Bill looks great! Pyro looks like Pyro, so that's good.

SIDEBAR: Catching up on some orders at MidTown, I noticed on the invoice that they were also going to send me some free issue of a Red Sonja comic. Why, I know not!

Once again, tho, I was amused by the idea that there is a Red Sonja comic being produced by someone other than Marvel. As I have noted before, Sonja represents one of the most glaring examples of Marvel's lawyers being asleep at the switch. The character as she exists, and as she was introduced in CONAN, has nothing to do with Robert E. Howard's creation. Even the name is spelled differently!

Roy Thomas created the Red Sonja who appeared in CONAN after someone wrote in to say it was a pity Conan could not meet Howard's character, who belonged to an entirely different epoch. By all rights, Red Sonja should be an independent creation (as is, for example, Hobgoblin), and should belong to Marvel.

That's what I thought when I read an article in which Roy Thomas described how he introduced her in the Conan book. If not the full character I guess that Marvel could claim at least ownership of the famous iron-scaled-bikini Red Sonja looks.

I've just picked up Baron Zemo, Black Knight and Ronan the Accuser (along with 2 DC figures).  Very pleased with the sculpts, especially Zemo, whose colors were darkened to royal purple with a wine-colored mask, making him look nicely sombre.  The chain mail detailing on the Knight is also quite nice.  As small as it is, the painter did an excellent job on Black Knight's chest emblem.  Superb pick-ups!

Marvel Girl (Rachel Summers) and Typhoid Mary have arrived.  Rachel looks like she should be Studio 54, but TM is an excellent sculp, especially the hair.

How big is the Ronan piece?  Normal or is it a special?
