Hmmm. Why not just look down all membership until a one to two page essay is submitted and judged as acceptable by each member. I know it might sound extreme, but when you consider the time saved in nuking threads and posters, it could be worth it.

Oh Brett, I was really going more for smarmy rather than snippy, but thanks for playing too.
(I never really understood that add-on.)

Well, I once started a thread about writing poetry based on JB's work and it got nuked. That had potential, I tell ya.

Forget the Atomic Death Ray Blaster. I've still got a portable Ultimate Nullifier around here someplace.

I think Joe's point is, there are a lot of newbies who do show up here as fans (vs trolls, or troublemakers), and are looked down on by a good sized portion of the membership here for the mere fact they are newbies, and when they do say something that goes against the majority, they get tagged a troll or troublemaker, usually with a sarcastic comment like "from someone with such a large number of posts" tacked on to that. I've seen it happen quite a bit, as I'm sure others have too.
There's nothing wrong with nuking posts and people that are here to stir up trouble. I think the Mods do a pretty good job of that.

Good points, Hugh. I can say from first hand experience that the "low post count = troll" accusation gets thrown around (by the same few people) quite a bit.
And considering the how well the Mods handle actual trolls, I wish people would just ignore them (the trolls) and let the Mods deal with them, rather than making honest fans feel unwelcome for stating a different opinion.
