And here I was thinking about complimenting you about your excellent reviews.

Maybe next time.

Dammit!  Foiled again!

(Thank you very much, by the way.)

There is certainly such a thing as being a courteous guest - is there also another angle that asks one to be a gracious host?

---

Yes. The role of the gracious host in this circumstance is to say, "Can you please take this conversation elsewhere?"

John Benson, please sit in the chair I just hit Joe with. I'm happy to
stand for somebody who has his head screwed on right.

Is anyone else disturbed by how hot Marge looks in that image?

Just me?

Yikes.

I used to post there quite a lot for a time, but then I grew really, really tired of the obvious referencing of what JB has said on this forum in posts over there, on nearly any subject, comics-related or not."

Well, I for one am not tempted to head that direction, and while I would be immensely sad if I ever, for some reason, was banned from this forum, I don't quite see the point of just moving over there. I'm here for JB and the people here... not just to have a place top chatter along... so if I couldn't be here, I don't see how it would be better to migrate elsewhere and complain about it.

Well, I've never visited any other blog/slash promotional site where I can start new threads on my own, ask in-put not only from the host but from all other members, so I'm not sure I buy the analogy. And while it isn't an internet community per se, I do believe the members have formed a sort of community. I enjoy the company of a lot people in here (even a whole bunch I every so often disagree with)... JB is our common link though and we are playing in his yard, no argument there.

I'll admit that she's hot looking, JM. Does it disturb me? Nah! ;)

Not in that image, particularly, but I do have vivid
recollections of when my eyes did the necessary
"flip" and I realized Marge was a Hot Babe.

That was a little disturbing.

"Joe, this forum should not be looked at as an exclusive party."

What the forum should or should not be is really up to to the people providing it, namely John Byrne and his moderators. I was just pointing out to Brett that his party analogy doesn't work.

" try and remind people that everyone is different, they all have points of view that are different."

True.

"There seems at time a need to push people into conformity to a point of view."

Untrue. Take for example the upcoming Spider-Man movie. JB is not forcing anyone to share his same opinions about it. He's simply asking us not to discuss it anymore on his own forum. Perhaps he thinks all that needs to be said about that film has already been expressed here.

it would not make sense to be on other internet places if there was not mr. byrne on them he is the reason we  are doing these things. you have to remember this is his house and you would not piss there would you? i would not piss anywhere unless mr byrne asked me and then i would but that is not something i think would happening. you can discuss these topics on other boards but that would be worse than here because there is no mr bryne . i love to see him name on the computer each day and i know in his heart he is glad for each of us,.

stan, I am not Mr. Byrne, and I would never think to speak for him. I just wanted to take the opportunity to tell you that I am the same age as Mr. Byrne, and I have been reading comics for as long as he has. With that in mind, I'd like to tell you that your unabashed loyalty to Mr. Byrne is refreshing in this harsh world we all live in. Many people say many bad things, and most of those people are lying. It is good that there are people like you who will stand up for what they believe. If I ever need support, I hope I have a friend as loyal and brave as you are.
