It's not nothing. They can even e-mail each other!

"who starts to look like the unreasonable one?"
Parties by nature are exclusive affairs. Hosts can exclude whomever they want. So it's probably not the analogy you're looking for.

Happily, I'm not torn up at all about the banning of Spider-Man movie discussion, since I haven't seen either of the films and am not really looking forward to the third one.
On subjects that are forbidden here... I thought that was the bread and butter of IMWAN. I used to post there quite a lot for a time, but then I grew really, really tired of the obvious referencing of what JB has said on this forum in posts over there, on nearly any subject, comics-related or not.
Oh well, sell a wee, like the French say.

This is Mr. Byrne's site. Therefore it all goes as he wants it to go. Its not the members. Its not the mods. Its Mr. Byrne. He trumps all. This isn't community anyways. Its kind of a blog slash promotional site. We listen to his opinions on topics. We look and admire his art. We're not here to argue. We're here to learn from one of the best in the business. If he says no talk of Spidey then no talk of Spidey. If he says post only in capital letters then we do so. Its his to direct as he sees fit and us to follow.

And here I was thinking about complimenting you about your excellent reviews.
Maybe next time.

Aki, I'm sorry you left IMWAN. "That thread" has taken a life of it's own despite attempts at killing it.
Joe, this forum should not be looked at as an exclusive party. When entrance is by invite only and/or there's a charge for entry then yes, it's exclusive. I try and remind people that everyone is different, they all have points of view that are different. There seems at time a need to push people into conformity to a point of view. I've seen people get into entrenched positions over things that are purely opinion, such as whether Movie/TV series X was good or bad. Shortly it becomes a battle to win the "other side" over to an opinion.
Like canaries in a coal mine, someone who argues with you will warn you first about the weakness in your own arguements. It's an opportunity to test out your own beliefs.
