Well, I completely disagree witht he comments on the perspective being wrong. I even went back and looked at the picture several times. Sorry, I disagree. Anatomical inaccuracies? Hell, I don't know. Who cares if its true, its a great picture.

The phrase "Like Unto a Thing of Iron" doesn't really parse, but it does sound neat.

I like this picture JB. I don't know much about Iron Fist but it looks like he
could kick some ass. I assume this is one of the Iron Fist cover recreations
you had mentioned previously. Anxious to see more of those.

I've long wondered JB, just how much input does the client have at different stages of a commission? Do they approve layouts, pencils, etc before inking, or is it straight to the final piece from their initial request?**** The client gives me an idea of what he wants -- sometimes fairly simple, sometimes quite detailed -- and I draw the picture as I see it.

The title of this thread comes from a line in the very first Iron Fist story, back in MARVEL PREMIERE. That was written by Roy Thomas, and drawn by Gil Kane.For those who don't recall, originally, until Chris got bored with it, IRON FIST has an unusual narrative style. The captions were addressed directly to the lead character -- the first one in every issue was usually something along the lines of "You are Iron Fist, and tonight you face your greatest challenge." This would give way to things like "He makes his move, but you are faster." "The air is cold, but you ignore its chill." I was sorry to see it go, and happy to bring it back for the NAMOR sequence seen above.

Very, very nice, JB. And from the first Byrne-drawn X-Men I'd ever seen, too.
( I would love to see the finished Colossus from the aborted start. What a fantastic pose to really play with his anatomy and shiny metalness).
