JB's Ororo in this piece strikes me as having a bit of a Mignola influence--which certainly ain't a bad thing! Also good to see Wolverine losing the Fang outfit. Cool stuff!

Yeah, but what does JB think about Storm in this pic?

EXCELLENT!!!!   It's not a drawing, it's alive!   Very cool, JB. Thanks for the
treat.

JB said ".....Dave had redrawn almost every X-Men face in the book!"

Wow, what a great anecdote.  I had always wondered why some of the art in Iron Fist #15 was inconsistent from page to page and even within certain panels and I finally have an explanation after all this time.  One of the many reasons I love this board!

This piece is a fantastic commission and Scott is a lucky man to have it.

You should take over Astonishing X-Men Mr. Byrne, the perfect person to take it after Whedon (who i feel has done much to bring back what was so great about the X-Men, I don't even bother picking up the other titles).

"Let it go, Wayne. You're dealing with concepts far too
elusive for your intended audience."

I will, John. One last point though........

"Of course none of us can draw as well as JB or we would have spent the
last 20-odd years working for DC and Marvel. However should that mean
that we have to agree that this particular piece is up to his usual exacting
standards even if we think that it is not..?"

Let's put it this way - did you ever get a present for Christmas when you
were a kid that you thought was kick-ass? And when school started back
did you take it to school to show it off? And a lot of the kids liked it, but
a couple thought it was crap - which comments did you remember the
most? That's what these pictures are - something very special to the
person who paid for them, and to bust on them ruins the experience a
little........and hopefully not, but maybe, a whole lot. Is your opinion
worth that much, that you just have to say "It's crappy"? Out of all the
threads on the forum - you can't just keep quiet here out of courtesy and
respect? That's all it is - just a little courtesy in just one thread.

But per JB's request, that's all from me. If you don't get what I'm saying
by now you either can't or you don't want to.

OK, this one's just wayyy better than the original.  Great action piece.  It's good to see Wolverine in a proper costume and without the re-drawn (and odd-looking) facial expressions you see throughout IF #15.

Finished or unfinished, I'd like a crack at bidding on that aborted piece on ebay.
