Clint, step one is admitting your addiction. --- Step two is giving your commissions to fellow board members.

Technically not a commission, but it seems more appropriate here than the other art thread and since William posted his in this thread:
Funny "it's a small world" story. I took this into be framed, and it turned out the framer was a big Byrne fan and a fellow forum member. I wasn't even halfway through pulling the art out of the envelope when he said, "Oooo, you got a Byrne!"
Before I took my piece in to get framed, I had been looking through posts in this thread for information on how to get comic art framed. It wasn't until I got home from the frame store that I realized that it was his post that I had been reading for framing advice.

It looks great, Michael. My go to dimensions for my comic framing anymore is 1 1/2" wide black matt with 2 inches on the bottom and a black frame.
I'm thinking of using a green matt for my Byrne Composite Superman commission. Just to mix things up, I'm just thinking for now. We're saving up our money right now our vacation, so framing and new commissions will have to wait until next fall.

My framer is also a Byrne fan! I think any decent framer probably is at heart.

And I love the metallic effect on the Thing's helmet in that piece you have.

With all the artwork I have had framed over the years -- sixty or more pieces, just of comicbook art -- I have not had a "recognition" experience. No one has known who the artist was I was getting framed.I HAVE been recognized myself, a few times, when calling in toy orders from various catalogs, tho. That's sort of similar, I guess.

When I had my Batman/Spider-Man piece framed, the framer did not know it was a Byrne, but he DAMN sure knew what it was he had in his hands, and immediately bumped it to the front of the queue, for the sheer fun he was going to have matting and framing it!

Byrne commission number two! Hope to get a least one commission a year. Oddly enough, you can actually see the reflection of the Bowen Wendigo statue in the picture.
