Joe, I was chatting with Gaydos and happened to look over at Herb's table, immediately finding my eyes glued to a beautiful Wolverine figure drawn out in pencil on comic art board. I walked over and realized that the piece that I thought I'd grab was actually covering a GI Joe piece and the above posted iece. Each was marked at a very reasonable price and done in regular lead pencil. Looked like he had done the 3 pieces and brought them with him. The guy was so cool that when I bought this piece, he sketched a cool Captain America head and shield shot for me. :)

Cool Fred. When I saw Trimpe at MidOhioCon last year he had nothing with him but was doing sketches upon request. I'm hoping he brings stuff like that with him this year that I can browse through. Nice piece you picked up there.

Sounds like both David and Fred had a great time at their respective cons. Fred, that Trimpe piece is a beaut. David, color me green with envy over the Pacheco sketch. I look forward to seeing it.

Ok, that works... I went to the Dublin City Comic Con on Saturday and added some lovely pieces to my collection.
Doug Braithwaithe ( Justice) was nice enough to do this Powergirl sketch for me on Saturday. Carlos was sitting with him and gave some advice on the finer details of her costume. When Doug was finished, Carlos coloured it. A lovely collaboration and two great gentlemen to meet.

Hawkman Special #1 pg 3 (1985)
Pencils by Richard Howell, Inks by Ron Randall
Great shot of Hawkman vs the Gentleman Ghost (whatever happened to him anyway?)
Saga of the Swamp Thing #13 pg 18 (1983)
Art by Tom Yeates
Nice, atmospheric work by Yeates--under-appreciated and the best of Wrightson's successors as far as I'm concerned.

Nice sketch Chretien.
Two of the nicest moments I had at the con were seeing Carlos going over to some young artists who had been called back by C.B. as part of his artist hunt to say "You waiting for C.B.? One of you could be the next superstar." and seeing Doug hunched up on a sofa in the bar with his sketchpad leaning on his knees sketching some stuff for some fans.

I believe it's been stated in this thread before but it's worth stating again:
Thank all you purveyors of original art for sharing your pieces with the forum. All you guys, Ari, Gerry, Paul, et al...man this place ROCKS!
Honestly, this is a great place to lurk and look.
Thanks again all!
