@Gil, sorry Gil I don't have a definitive list as such and have used trial and error to ge a match in the past.  One fig I had was in need of a touch up (i dropped it) so I wandered down to me local Games Workshop with it and chose the colours that matched from their full range.  Sorry I cannot be of more help.

No problem. I just don't know of any GW/hobby shop that carries the Citadel paints near me.

I'm sure these figures are a little like crack.
When this thread started I was barely able to pass on the Thing. Then I saw Daredevil and I couldn't.
I thought now, I'll just get Elektra, DD, and Bullseye but then I saw the Invisible Woman, and weakened on my FF stance. Then this weekend I saw the Human Torch, and nearly completely bent. Because if I did get all the FF, then I would have to get Dr. Doom, and the Super Skrull. AND that Nick Fury looks cool....

What do people think of the magazines that come with the figures?

••

I cut open the bag. remove the boxed figure, and throw away the magazine, still in the plastic, unopened. I started doing that after I flipped thru about three of the magazines.

With these figurines -- is there any defined "influence" of penciler behind them?

For instance - does the Hulk look like a generic brute or a Kirby-style Hulk - does the Wolverine look like a generic guy with claws or does he look like a specific era Wolverine ?

Thanks

Tell me about it!

...and I just ordered Dr. Doom, Elektra, Human Torch, Shadowcat, Vision, Captain America, and Thanos.  I have, indeed, surrendered to the will of Landru!

I've had these arranged on my shelf in alphabetical order, in three rows front to back, but the other day I decided to save myself some future rearranging and move them to their original release order, based on the magazine numbers. That way, as new figures come along, nobody else will need to get shifted to make room.

Something curious that appeared out of this, tho, is the huge empty gap in the second row. Made me wonder, yet again, why these things are not being released over here in what was, presumably, the order in which they came out in England. Or were they released in non-numerical order there, too?

You're only mildly addicted, Matt, until you start doing repaints. Like, I
notice your Angel is still red. . .

Yeah, haven't had the time.  Plus, my repainting skills are, shall we say, considerably less than stellar.

As far as how I have them arranged, as you can see I've got the heroes facing off against the villains.  The heroes are arranged by team, such that the Thing is standing next to Invisible Woman (in between will be The Human Torch), the X-Men are standing next to each other, the loners are in the middle, and Avengers are on the perimeter.  As far as the villains, there's no rhyme or reason.  They're all loners and are willing to take on any of the heroes!

Two things: 1) I've got a ton more heroes than villains, and 2) I'm gonna need more room ASAP!

LOL, the age old problem of how to arrange them...I have tried numerous ways but settled on order of release for simplicity. Once the series has ended then I "may" try and group them by 1. Height 2. Colour 3. Affiliation 4. Year of first appearance 5. Date I got it............or even..............oh heck.....I think I have opened a can of worms!

I don't know why the US release is "out of sync".  We get ours in numerical order.

I've noticed that, no matter how I arrange them, curious juxtapositions occur. The lineup is completely arbitrary, of course, based on the amount of available shelf space, yet color combos, for instance, keep turning up. In the present release-date linup, Phoenix ends up in the front row, Loki in the back -- yet they are "next" to each other -- two green and yellow figures in the midst of all those other colors.

Makes the Vision look extra lonesome, out on the end of his row.
