Go to Google.

Search "John Byrne."

Third [sic!] result:

I doubt anyone who finds their way to our “entrance” would be long confused. My name, my covers, and Rogie! I don’t think this is AT&T!

***

The same could be said of the Facebook fan page.  Once you're inside you know what exactly what the page is about.

However, all of this is irrelevant to the original point of discussion which was confusing titles and not the content of the pages.  My point was that Byrne Victims is no less confusing than Byrne Robotics as a title.  Now that I think of it, I would actually go and say Byrne Robotics is even a more confusing title than Byrne Victims.

It might not be popular to say this here, but here I go anyway.

We could sit here and debate our OPINIONS of which site is better all day, but if the Facebook page has 8000 members and this one is down to 560, the FACT is that -- for whatever reasons -- it is more popular.

Also, despite how much fun he is apparently having just telling the story, Mr. Byrne is actively trying to sell the pages of Elsewhen. The Facebook page is exposing his work to a much larger audience of potential buyers. As insulting as some of you think it is, that is a huge financial benefit to Mr. Byrne.

I wish someone would pirate my work like that.

I liked seeing Cyclops let loose. And really liked the second panel...Professor X's positioning, especially his hand.

I’m surprised to hear some long time Byrne fans hearing the term “Byrne Victim” as a negative. JB embraced the term well over 2 decades ago...

I remember JB talking about it in Next Men... it’s been around for a long time.

A grown man who uses an insider definition of "victim" - to name his FB group dedicated to ignoring an easy-to-accomodate request like, "please don't take art from my site" is not "embracing the term" the same way JB is.

That's a new one - showing the Phoenix "bird" wincing from being attacked!

I love it.
The fate of everything is firmly in the hands of Xavier now.
And I really do not have a clue how he will pull it off!

Man, I just love that Silver Surfer angle and pose.
I can feel his speed!

BTW, if I hadn't mentioned it in a while, great story line!

What am I missing?

*****

We are already on social media for numerous reasons.
Byrne Victims shows up as a part of my feed along with
information on my kids school, along with sales from
my local grocery store, along with pictures of my
friends' children, along with articles from a learning
& development writer I follow, along with information
from my D&D group and the next time we are playing,
along with some fond memories from this day in past
years, along with information from my senator and
representative, along with the latest local news,
along with other stuff.

Basically, social media has become one stop shopping
specifically curated for me. That doesn't mean I like
it here any less or more. It serves a different place
in my free time, and because of that it requires
conscious thought to come check out whats new. Its
like visiting that old pub I used to go to all the
time before I moved.
