Speaking of post 9/11 comics. And I'm sure SOMEBODY around here was. Whatever happened to that "War in Iraq" or whatever it was called that Quesada had put together? It was solicited and cancelled twice and then a trade was solicited, but I've never seen it.
For a really interesting comic about 9/11 (and this is no joke, even if it is produced by the writer and artist of Richie Rich and Casper), check this out. Your principles are safe with this one Al. It's an amazon link to the book. : )

Almost the whole book was serialized on The Slate a few years ago, Zaki. Subject matter notwithstanding, I was impressed with Ernie Colon's art. I was always a fan of his DC work (as well as the Harvey stuff) and this is definitely some of his best stuff. Even more impressive considering how difficult it must have been for Jacobson to have adapted it to the form for Colon to draw. It's been re-listed in the current previews so I placed my order for the print copy.

Just to be clear, Wes, it's not that I refuse to click that link because I
suspect (from your allusion to who's site it is) that it's work that I would
disagree with on a political/philosophical basis.
I'm not clicking it because I don't feel a link to another self-promoting
ass is necessary this discussion. I get why you linked it - I made me
smirk (which I think was your intent), but I just don't want to be part of
someone's 'free traffic'.
(Wouldn't want some poor struggling soul to think that just because their
web hits took a jump this afternoon that they're actually growing their
audience...)
If someone comes along and says "Hey! You know me and respect my
opinion, and you have to go check this out guy's site because he's A):
right in line with what you'd like and agree with or B): totally out to
lunch and completely outrageous", I'll go check it out.
But not as a (comedic?) aside in a discussion about self-promotional
asses.
Even if I thought that the site on the other end of the link was a book
that would perfectly appeal my own personal ideals, and illustrated in my
favourite styles by the finest artists in the business, I wouldn't click it
from there.
I know, I know, it seems an exceedingly fine point to distinguish, but
there it is. That's the principle that I mentioned: "In a thread that has
largely become about self-promotional asses, I will not click a link that
likely leads to a self-promotional ass's website."

No worries, Al. I understood from your first reply. You got my intent correct. And for the record, my ass does not promote itself.

Oh, and thanks for the Graphic Adaptation of the 9/11 Report link, Wes!
Good show at bringing this thread back to its supposed topic! A fascinating
attempt by Jacobson and Colon to bring that significant document to a wider
audience.
I noticed a link in the "Customers who bought this item also bought:" field
to Art Spiegelman's "In The Shadow of No Towers", which I found quite
compelling when I read it a couple of years ago. Anyone else read this?
Thoughts?

I'm sure if you posted a shot of it on the "Gay Wedding" thread you'd find
you're wrong about your posterior, Wes.
